The news reported today that hail fell in a town called Arecibo here in PR. If you've ever seen the movie Contact (Jodie Foster intercepts a alien message and builds a big traveling machine), then you've seen the huge satellite dish in the middle of the Arecibo mountains.

It's always hilarious to hear about ice falling from the sky in a tropical island :) Personally, I've never been in a hail storm here in PR (in the states, yes), but it has happened a couple of times. It always takes people here by surprise that hail can fall in PR: "OMG! What's that? What's going on? Ice? But it's not cold here". It doesn't matter how many times the hail formation is explained and why it can happen here, people always think it's some sort of phenomenon.

Even so, it's still funny to hear because it's unexpected and something I'd like to see. :)
