Yesterday was a day full of celebrations. We spent the day in Aibonito (the town where most of my family lives) with aunts, uncles, cousins, baby cousins and lots of other people.

The first party was a combo celebration. It was the birthday party for my cousin's son Yaret and the welcome home celebration for her husband Omar. He had just gotten back the night before after spending a year in Iraq. There was a moving speech given by one of the fraternity brothers that brought pretty much everyone to tears when he said that his son has been in Iraq for 5 years and still has a year and a half to go.

After that celebration, we went to my other cousin's son's bday. We got there late, so there was no cake left :) We spent some time with the family and by 5:30pm we had to head back home. To get in and out of Aibonito you have to drive through the mountains. And since it's "winter" time, it gets darker earlier, colder and rainier which translates into foggy mountain roads. Those just aren't fun. We also stopped by Cayey, dropped off my cousin Mariela and visited with my other cousin Santos, his wife Jaqueline and their 11 month of baby girl. Isn't she cute?!

It definitely was a full family day.
