So here's the skinny on digital cameras: They don't like water. :)

My camera: Pentax Optio S4. I didn't think my camera got that wet on tuesday. I protected it as best I could and my left side wasn't as wet as my right. It worked all through the night till we left Pink Skirt. But it was already acting funny by the end. Now, the camera powers on and all the buttons work, but it won't take pictures. That's the only button that refuses to work.

I'm surprised my camera lasted as long as it did. I didn't mistreat it or anything...or atleast not on purpose. I've had it since 2001 I believe. First of all, it was already slightly used when I got it. Then, it's survived many Dabu parties and even a pretty high fall for a camera complements of Chris. It was sitting peacefully on a restaurant table and drunk Chris when to give someone a hug. He accidentally hit my camera and knocked it off the table.

The only time it acted weird was this past October. Sumo Suzy had too much to drink and according to friends, liquids had been spilled on it. It survived and kept working. Since then, though, changes in temperature haven't been a good thing. And I guess it just had enough. So if no miracle happens, I should start looking into getting a new one.

I like Pentax. Anyone want to give me a free digital Pentax camera? :)
