Morning. I have no idea what time it was, but it must have been around 7am. I'm in my deep, comfortable sleep when out of nowhere I hear the sounds of crying poultry. It's a very distinct sound chickens/roosters make when they're being attacked. Not like they're usual cackling or even when it's hyped up from running, this cry is not right. You know something is wrong when you hear it. I can't describe it.

So some time around 7am, this was the noise that rudely awakend my ass up. It didn't just wake me up. It jolted me out of bed since it came from right next to my window. The last time I heard this cry was when the first chicken was attacked by the stray dog. So there I am sitting straight up on my bed, half alseep and now pumped full of adenaline. I look out the window, but don't see anything. I don't know what's going on, but my first thought was the neighbors dog got to the chicken. So I go outside real quick and I see this guy holding the rooster. My sister was also outside in her car. What in the world was going on?!

Turns out this gardner from a few houses up took it upon himself to catch the rooster...AT 7AM NEXT TO MY WINDOW!!! My sister quickly claimed the rooster as ours, so he left Gallito Jr. tied by one leg in our backyard. Yeah, that didn't work :) He was loose again in a matter of minutes. I'm sleepy.

One day soon I'll see if I can record the rooster "cock-a-doodle-doo-ing".
