Last night turned out to be quite a night. It seemed like just another night with nothing special going on. I ate dinner and was waiting for Yajaira. While I waited, I gave Lasha (one of our dogs) her eye drops. This needs a little backstory...

Lasha's an old pomeranian. She's about 14 years old and yes, she has developed a few medical Lasha 01problems. It goes with the territory of getting old. List of ailments are as follow:

  1. Arthritis (hips and back)
  2. Right tear gland stopped producing tears
  3. Colapsed Trachea
  4. Cataracts in both eyes
  5. Had a vaginal prolapse - 3 masses removed
  6. Has other masses
  7. Developed Glaucoma in the right eye and an eye ulcer. Lasha 02

So the last one is what the drops were for. Everyday it's been drops here, drops there...the never ending drops. This obviously irritates her and with one eye closed most of the time, she'd been bumping into everything even more. Poor thing. So, back to last night. I gave her the drops and she didn't like that. She tried to scratch her eye and ended up poking her eye with her small nail. Next thing I know there's too much fluid from the eye and blood. The drops had made her secrete all this crap which I guess meant her eye was getting better, but now with blood...Well, we called the vet, took her in and off she went to surgery. Lasha had managed to scratch the ulcer in her eye and that's why it bled. So they gassed her up and sewed her eye shut. I think she's supposed to be this way for 10 days to 14 days. Now she's coned up and restricted in her area, but last night she woke up about every 2 hours and tried to scratch her eye. A scratched cornea is painful dude. She'd wake up, I'd wake up. I didn't sleep. I'm completely sleepy today. It's going to be an "interesting" week.
