Yet another crazy chicken moment...

Gallina y madre 01This afternoon I'm in the kitchen and I hear rustling in the terrace. I look out the door and see the chicken breaking up this plastic table cloth that was left over from one of the parties. But she was sitting on one of the chairs and it all looked a mess. I tapped on the glass and she turned around, she stopped and stared at me.

So I go to my room and my parents get home around 4:30pm. My mother goes outside and sees the chicken all tangled up. She had gotten one of her legs trapped in her own mess. Amazingly enough, the chicken allowed herself to be picked up. That's when my mother notices the blood on the floor and on the chicken. I was about to eat, but she calls me outside to see the chicken and ask me what happened. I don't know what happened, I was in my room most of the day.

Gallina y madre 02The blood was dry and the chicken seemed fine. But as my mother held her, I cleaned her up. I wanted to see if she was cut anywhere else, so it took a while to clean. She even had a bit of dry blood in her eye which was preventing her from opening it all the way. After a while, she was all clean and on her way. We just assume the rooster pecked at her while she was tangled. I don't know.
