Andrea @ BaldwinYesterday afternoon I went to an activity sponsored by my former high school. It was Family Day at Baldwin School. I do remember the Family Day's we went to while in elementary. The games, the food, running around like crazy with your friends. Well, not much has changed in that aspect.

It has gotten more elaborate. This year's theme was Pirates Of The Caribbean. Parents, children, teachers...there were many people dressed up as pirates or had pirate shirts on. There were kiosks where people sold art prints, you could get a free massage (which btw, that place was always full and I never saw those 2 massagers take breaks), win a fish at a game and take a picture with the Nestle bunny among other things. There were raffles going on through out the day. Everything from gift certificates of different stores to a LCD tv. The funniest one had to have been the gift certificates for Botox :) The biggest difference was the fact that they had a band play for about an hour and half. It was Black: Guayaba. Interesting.

So I spent my time walking around and talking to some of my teachers. To me they don't look any different than when I was in high school. I looked at the kids and teenagers running and walking around and I came to a conclusion. Nothing's changed. The school might get better buildings and improvements and some kids might come from more well-to-do families, but everyone still looks the same. And that made me laugh.

La pregunta es, todavia hay el famoso "Baldwin Mud"?

Now that I think of it, the mud has all, but disappeared. There's grass here and there of course, but gone are the days of Baldwin looking like a hippie camp. The field is still there, so there's plenty of dirt to anger the mom's when they try to wash the kidies uniforms.
