Day 2 of Halloween Weekend.

House party hosted by Ivan's friends. The best costume there was Britney! He was rockin' the bra and booty shorts, but it was hilarious when pulled the wig off and walked around as bald Britney! There was one guy dressed up as El Chapulin Colorado. Homeboy wasn't wearing any underwear and left nothing to the imagination. That's all I'll say about that.

The most ridiculous thing was when one guy came up to me and asked me if I'd seen the movie Little Miss Sunshine. WHAT? No man! I haven't seen the movie and have no idea who I'm dressed up as!!!

I know, not a lot of pictures, but I didn't know anyone there and I had a serious case of shampoo effect going on. I was a pretty quiet Olive Hoover last night.

Halloween Party!!!! We had such a good time last night. Originally I wanted to go to Yelloween, but it was all sold out so fuck it. Jennifer had a house party and we went to that. People would stare at me which was funny because they knew who I was dressed up as, but couldn't place me. But then I'd hear "Oooh, Little Miss Sunshine!"

OH YEAH! Little Miss Sunshine was a hit and so much fun!

Ivan's cousin had an art exposition at the Peroni place. I don't know if it's an art gallery or just a regular lounge...I don't know. Anyway, so we went to that, they gave us free beer and that art was cool. :)

Yesterday we ran the Race For The Cure 5k. This was all thanks to Andrea...all the insistance on signing up, I finally did like 2 days before the race. I run on a treadmill and running outside is oh so different. Especially on sunday. It was super hot, rained and the humidity was off the chart. It was pretty miserable outside.

If the weather wasn't enough of an obstacle, almost as soon as the race started people shot out like crazy. One woman came from behind and cut me off almost making me fall because she clipped my right foot. Crazy people! Then, there was supposed to have been water at the 1 mile marker....oh no. The water was way father and for some reason the 2nd water stands were just around the corner from the 1st one. That didn't make sense.

All I wanted was to come in under 50min and I did. By my watch I did 35:35, but on the site it says I did 35:59. In any case, I accomplished my goal and even beat my treadmill time. As far as running other 5k's....not real sure about that :)

We went to Scion NextFest. We got there late. It wasn't all that good anyway and it wasn't all that crowded. It seemed pretty disorganized to me.

I was in my room this afternoon watching the So You Think You Can Dance? marathon on MTV. Ok, first of all...why didn't I watch this show before?!! These people kickass.

Anyway, so I went to the kitchen to grab something to drink. That's when I see my dog Gamu half standing half sitting infront of the backyard door. Ok. It looked like she was peeing or about to pee, so I called out to her. She moved or actually, I should say that she tried to move. She didn't go anywhere. So I call out to her again and she tries again. Very odd, so I go over and that's when I see why she can't move. Somehow she'd managed to get stuck on a glue trap which was also stuck to a potato bag. I was like "How in the world did this happen?!?!"

I don't know. I didn't even know there was a glue trap around. And since it was also stuck to a potato bag, there was no way she was going to move. The bag weighs more than she does! It was funny and irritating at the same time. This little incident cost her an early bath.

Last night we went to Ocean (the club, not the beach) to see Circo perform. It was their cd release party and it was packed. We had lots of fun and there were some odd characters around, but that was to be expected. There was one dude who dressed up as if he was participating in a marathon or something. You know, with the short shorts...He was hilarious and what made it even better was that he was walking around with a Polaroid camera. Wow! Of course we took a picture with him, he was a good sport even though he was lacking in the deodorant department.

Fun long night :)

Yesterday was the last day in the volleyball tournament at the school. Soon it became clear to me all over again something that I had long forgotten: How insane parents become with their kids sports.

I decided to go to the tournament to see the teams play since I hadn't been to any of the home game (all I want to do after work is go home). The first thing I noticed was I had never heard of this one school. That's when I was told that this particular school in full of scholarship atheletes who play at the national level as well. Oh great. So I take my place in the stands and watch some volleyball. Infront of me were parents of one school I remember playing against...they're hard to forget. The team was always good and never mean, but the parents always made up for it.

I had forgotten how crazy parents become with their kids sports. These parents needed prozac. It's one thing to be playing on the full court because when you serve, you are nowhere near the stands. You hear noise, but you can't hear or make out the abuse. But at that time the court was divided in 2 to play more games. So, the server was basically in the bleachers. That's when parents go into crazy mode. These parents were doing everything, but standing up next to the server and yelling right in their faces. Just let them play!

Oh and the dad of one of the girls was sitting on the bottom. Instead of sliding over and making space for the girls to serve, he just opened his legs spread eagle. Gross! Gross old man!

I didn't stay for the last 2 games. It was already 5pm and I had a serious case of plank ass going on. During one game, one of the over zealous mother's had one of those air horns. She just happen to blow it a couple of times too close to my head. So of course I had a headache on top of the numb butt cheeks. All in all there were some good games, some insanely powerful players and even a couple of tears.

All afternoon I was checking out different artists on myspace. Yeah I didn't have anything else to do. I was trying to find a variety of different new music to listen to. And in that search I found The Sugars. Instantly liked what I heard and saw. FUN!

The Sugars - Monsters

These are the pictures from the happy part of last night. Everything else sucked. The day started off at 5:30am just like any other work day. Then there were disagreements at the end of the day. So I went out last night with these folks and it got better. But then of course it turned sucky again.

That's all.

This chicken story is LONG overdue.

I believe the last time the chickens were mentioned, it had to do with the chick my mother decided to save since it was suffering from some strange non-walking sickness. Well, the chick is all better and grew up to be a rooster. He still comes in every night and sleeps in the garage. He will stand at the back door and peck at the glass to be let into the house.

And if that wasn't odd and funny enough, he eats dog food. The rooster has a mixed up identity crisis. He hangs with the dogs in the garage and eats dog food. All he needs now is a doggie door to come and go as he pleases :)

So.....
As you can tell, I haven't been blogging much lately. There are 2 reasons for that:

1. Nothing really has been going on that I feel like sharing. I mean, lots has been going on in PR like the latest cop who assassinated that unarmed and handcuffed man and things like that. But I don't want to get into all that.

2. Work started Aug. 1st. Obviously most of my time during the week is taken up by that and when I get home I don't want to sit at the computer for long.

So that's about it for now.

Yesterday was Ivan's birthday and we went out for a bit to celebrate with him. We went to this place called El Paraiso. It's a nice little place. The DJ seemed to be "in training" because he was all over the place. No transitions, no discrimination in music genre...just jumping from one song to the next. And then of course there was some bad Karaoke which was hilarious to watch.

Happy Birthday Ivan!

I went to Kmart today. Went to buy usual stuff like gel and hairspray so I didn't stay long. When I get home I typically empty my pockets. Yes, I use my pockets. I rarely ever use an actual purse, but I digress. This time around I didn't take the change out of my pocket. I ate lunch, relaxed a bit and just now took the change out. I separate the pennies from the rest because I put them in a big empty rum bottle. I already filled up an Absolut bottle so I use this rum bottle now...but I digress, again.

I checked the pennies to see if there are any old "One Cent" logo pennies in the bunch and that's when I noticed something odd. I'd gotten Canadian money at an American store in Puerto Rico. Granted it was just a penny, but it's still a long way from home. Just goes to show you people don't look at the change their given and who cares about the penny right?

Wasn't there some talk about how the govt. was going to eliminate the penny? I happen to like pennies. They're still useful, especially now when the sale tax is in full force. Those small brown circular money are usually the deciders in if you can pay in full or have to break another dollar and get even more change. And let's not forget how usefull they are at the pay tolls. Las "perras" te han resuelto mas de una vez y lo saben.

Anyway, Kmart owes me a penny
